Structure Formation and Dark Matter: Theory vs. Observations The Santa Fe topical workshop for 2001 will concentrate on recent developments in cosmology, especially those related to current and expected observational advances, including the cosmic microwave background, large-scale structure, and dark matter. As a rough guide, the first week of the workshop will be devoted mainly to Large Scale Structure, the second week to the Cosmic Microwave Background, and the third week to Dark Matter and Dark Energy as well as the Early Universe. The format will emphasize discussion with some formal review and related talks as appropriate. Generally speaking we would like to reserve the largest fraction of the day for discussion and informal meeting. To encourage this informality and discussion, attendance wil be limited to about 50 participants. The workshop will be held at St. John's College, a pleasant and prestigious campus situated in the hills east of downtown Santa Fe. This meeting is part of a continuing series of workshops on cosmology co-organized by the Elementary Particles and Field Theory Group (T-8) of Los Alamos National Laboratory and the Theoretical Astrophysics Group at Fermilab. Sponsors include the Theoretical Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory, the University of California Institute for Nuclear and Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology, and the National Science Foundation. |
